Visual Markings for Emergency Exits and Escape Routes

Introduction

The marking of emergency exits and escape routes has a significant impact on the evacuation capabilities of the tunnel users. Giving orientation by a high efficient marking system ist the most important precondition for self-rescue. SWAREFLEX develops the SWARO EXIT system for emergency exit markings and the dynamic marking of escape routes. The brightness of the modules can be adjusted via a control unit. The mechanical housing od the SWARO EXIT system can be easily adapted to individual tunnel geometries or to noise reduction walls.

Product Design

SWARO EXIT Emergency Exit Marking

Emergency exit marking is used for marking emergency exits and thus provides support for escape. The emergency exit can be marked with permanent illuminated LED modules on both sides. They can be mounted directly to the tunnel wall or along a straight cable tray or a cable tray following the radius of the tunnel side wall. The brightness of the modules can be adjusted via the control unit. The switch to daytime or nighttime lighting brightness can be triggered by an external signal or a brightness sensor. The power is supplied via the existing electric network.

SWAR OEXIT Dynamic Emergency Exit Marking

Dynamic emergency exit marking is used for marking escape routes and thus provides support for escape. The escape route is marked by LED arrow modules or SWARO LEVELITE flush-mounted luminaires with running light function. An additional flash module with ultra-bright LEDs is visible from a distance even in dense smoke. The modules are connected to a control unit to activate running light mode, if necessary. The power can be supplied by an existing electric network.

SWARO EXIT Traffic and direction signs

The internally illuminated LED signs allow for a better visibility of traffic and direction signs in tunnels and thereby facilitate self-rescue and orientation. The signs can be mounted directly to the tunnel wall. The power is supplied via the existing electric network.
